Some properties just need a reset. This Champlin hillside had good bones - mature trees, natural elevation changes, a real sense of character - but the space wasn't working the way it should. It looked rough around the edges and was harder to maintain than it needed to be.

Here's what we were working with: an uneven slope with no real structure holding it together. Our crew came in and regraded the hill to smooth out the grade and give the whole area a cleaner, more intentional shape. Grading work like this isn't just about looks - it's about making the land behave. When a slope is properly shaped, water moves where you want it to, and the ground holds together instead of washing out every time it rains.

Once the grade was dialed in, we set boulders throughout the slope to anchor the design and add some natural definition. Boulder placement sounds simple, but getting the sizing and spacing right takes a trained eye. Too many and it looks cluttered. Too few and they don't do anything useful. We spread them out at natural intervals so the hill feels intentional without looking overdone. Then we installed the trees - a mix of evergreens and a birch - and finished the beds with fresh mulch to tie everything together.

The whole job wrapped up in a single day. That matters more than people realize. One crew, one focused push, and the property walks away looking completely different. No weeks of disruption. No lingering half-finished mess. Just a clean result that the homeowner can actually enjoy and maintain going forward.

That's really the goal with every landscape installation we do - build something that looks sharp right away and stays manageable over time. When the grading, plantings, and boulders all work together, the yard stops being a chore and starts being an asset.
